Year 4 Reading performance by school authority
Most year four students who had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 reading assessment were enrolled in government schools: 81% in government schools and 19% in non-government schools.
Figure CRF4.5 shows the average performance of year four students by school authority. Students in government schools scored similarly in reading to those in non-government schools. This is consistent with the 2018 and 2015 PILNA cycles, when year four students in government schools also scored similarly to those in non-government schools (see Figure CRF4.6).
