Year 4 Numeracy performance by school locality
A roughly equal proportion of year four students who participated in the PILNA 2021 numeracy assessment were enrolled in urban and non-urban schools: 49% in urban schools and 51% in non-urban schools.
Figure CNF4.6 shows the average performance of year four students by school locality. Year four students in urban schools scored higher than those in non-urban schools in the overall numeracy domain and across most numeracy strands. There was no substantial difference between the scores of these groups in the ‘Measurement’ and ‘Geometry’ strands.
