Year 4 Writing performance by school authority
Most year four students who had their performance assessed in the PILNA 2021 writing assessment were enrolled in government schools: 81% in government schools and 19% in non-government schools.
Figure CWF4.5 shows the average performance of these students by school authority. Students in government schools scored about the same in writing as those in non-government schools and this was the case also in 2018 and 2015 (see Figure CWF4.6) Further statistical testing needs to be done to understand if differences in scores are significant or the result of chance or outliers.
