Year 4 Writing performance by gender
A roughly equal number of year four girls and boys in Tonga had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 writing assessment: 49% girls and 50% boys.
Figure CWF4.4 shows the average writing performance of year four students in Tonga by gender. On average, year four girls (496.25) scored higher than year four boys (482.14). They also scored higher, on average, than year four boys in writing performance in 2015 and 2018.
