Year 6 Reading performance by school locality
A roughly equal number of year six students who had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 reading assessment were enrolled in urban and non-urban schools: 46% in urban schools and 54% in non-urban schools.
Figure CRF6.7 shows the average performance of year six students by school locality. Year six students in urban schools achieved higher reading results on average than those in non-urban schools. This is similar to the two previous PILNA cycles, 2015 and 2018 (refer to Figure CRF6.8)
