The average numeracy strand performance for year six students in Tonga is shown in Figure CNF6.3. There was little variation in the average scores of most numeracy strands, which shows that this year six cohort had mostly consistent performance across them. Students did, however, score slightly higher in the ‘Operations’ strand compared with the other numeracy strands. This also means that the overall numeracy score for this year six cohort may have been disproportionately affected by the ‘Operations’ strand score.
