Over 80% of grade five students are enrolled in schools in non-urban areas. Figure CWF5.7 shows the average performance of grade five students in writing by school locality. Grade five students in urban schools and non-urban schools achieved comparable results in writing in 2021. This mirrors the consistent performance observed in previous PILNA cycles in 2015 and 2018, although slight differences in previous years appear to have narrowed even further, see Figure CWF5.8.
