Over 80% of grade three students are enrolled in schools in non-urban areas. Figure CRF3.7 shows the average performance of grade three students in reading by school locality. Grade three students in urban and non-urban schools achieved similar results in the overall reading domain on average. This marks a change from 2018, when grade three students in urban schools performed better on average than those in non-urban schools. However, average performance in non-urban schools has increased since 2018, making the two localities comparable, see Figure CRF3.8.
