Over 80% of grade five students are enrolled in schools in non-urban areas. Figure CRF5.7 shows the average performance of grade five students in reading by school locality. Grade five students in urban schools achieved higher results in reading on average than those in non-urban schools in 2021. This is similar to the performance observed in the 2015 and 2018 PILNA cycles, see Figure CRF5.8.
