Year 6 Writing performance by school locality
Most year six students who had their performance assessed in the PILNA 2021 writing assessment were enrolled in non-urban schools: 82% in non-urban schools and 18% in urban schools.
Figure CWF6.7 shows the average performance of these students by school locality. On average, year six students in urban schools achieved higher scores in writing than students in non-urban schools. This is consistent with the 2018 and 2015 PILNA cycles where students from non-urban schools achieved higher scores (Figure CWF6.8).
