Year 4 Reading performance by school authority
Most year four students who had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 reading assessment were enrolled in government schools: 77% in government schools and 23% in non-government schools.
Figure CRF4.5 shows the average performance of year four students by school authority. Students in non-government schools scored higher in reading than those in government schools. This is similar to the 2018 and 2015 PILNA cycles, when year four students in non-government schools also scored slightly higher than those in government schools (Figure CRF4.6).
