Year 4 Numeracy performance by school locality
Most year four students who participated in the PILNA 2021 numeracy assessment were enrolled in non-urban schools: 81% in non-urban schools and 19% in urban schools
Figure CNF4.6 shows the average performance of year four students by school locality. Those in urban schools scored higher than those in non-urban schools in the overall numeracy domain and across all four strands. The biggest difference was observed in the ‘Data’ strand. Figures CNF4.6.1-4.6.5 shows the performance of students over the previous PILNA cycles.
