Year 6 Reading performance by school locality
Most year six students who had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 reading assessment were enrolled in non-urban schools: 78% in non-urban schools and 22% in urban schools.
Figure CRF6.7 shows the average performance of year six students by school locality. Year six students in urban schools achieved higher reading results on average than those in non-urban schools. This is consistent with the two previous PILNA cycles, 2015 and 2018 (Figure CRF6.8).
