Year 6 Writing performance by school authority
Most year six students in Tuvalu who had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 writing assessment were enrolled in government schools: 85% in government schools and 15% in non-government schools.
Figure CWF6.5 shows the average writing performance of year six students by school authority. In PILNA 2021, they scored about the same as students in government schools. This is different from PILNA 2018, when students in government schools scored higher than those in non-government schools (Figure CWF6.6). Further statistical testing needs to be done to understand if these differences in scores are significant or the result of chance or outliers.
