Year 4 Writing performance by school authority
Most year four students in Tuvalu who had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 writing assessment were enrolled in government schools: 85% in government schools and 15% in non-government schools.
Figure CWF4.5 shows the average performance of year four students by school authority. Students in non-government schools scored higher in writing than students in government schools. This Is different from PILNA 2018, when there was no performance difference between students enrolled in government schools and those in non-government schools (Figure CWF4.6). Further statistical testing needs to be done to understand if the differences in scores are significant or the result of chance or outliers.
