Grade 5 Writing performance by school authority
Most grade five students who participated in the PILNA 2021 writing assessment in Palau were enrolled in government schools; 80% of grade five students were enrolled in government schools and 20% in non-government schools.
Figure CWF5.5 shows the performance of grade five students by school authority, government and non-government, over time. In 2021, students in non-government schools scored higher (533) than students in government schools (511) in writing performance. As seen in Figure CWF5.6, this was similar to PILNA 2015 and PILNA 2018, when students in non-government schools scored higher than students in government schools. Students in non-government schools have consistently scored higher than those in government schools in the writing assessment over the past three PILNA cycles.
