Grade 5 Reading performance by school authority
Most grade five students who participated in PILNA 2021 in Palau were enrolled in government schools; 80% were in government schools and 20% were in non-government schools
Figure CRF5.5 shows the average performance of grade five students by school authority, government and non-government, over time. In 2021, students in non-government schools (608) scored higher than students in government schools (565) in reading performance.
As seen in Figure CRF5.6, the same trend was seen in PILNA 2015 and PILNA 2018. In these PILNA cycles, students from non-government schools scored higher than students in government schools in reading performance. Non-government schools have consistently scored higher than government schools over the past three PILNA cycles.
