Grade 7 Reading performance by gender
A roughly equal number of grade seven girls and boys in Palau had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 reading assessment: 54% girls and 45% boys.
Figure CRF7.3 shows the average reading performance of grade seven students in Palau by gender. On average, grade seven girls (619.56, SD = 51.81) scored higher than grade seven boys (584.87, SD = 62.73) in PILNA 2021. This is similar to the 2015 and 2018 PILNA cycles, when, on average, grade seven girls scored higher than grade seven boys in reading performance.
