Grade 7 Reading performance by school authority
Eight out of 10 grade seven students are enrolled in government schools in Marshall Islands.
Figure CRF7.5 shows the average performance of grade seven students by school authority. Students in non-government schools had higher reading scores on average in the overall reading domain than those enrolled in government schools. While the difference in average reading scores at grade seven was consistent with the previous two PILNA cycles, 2021’s results show a greater disparity. In that year, students in government schools had average reading scores 19 points lower than in 2018, Figure CRF7.6.
