Grade 7 Reading performance by gender
A roughly equal number of grade seven girls and boys in Marshall Islands had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 reading assessment: 50% girls and 50% boys.
Figure CRF7.3 shows the average reading performance of grade seven students in Marshall Islands by gender. On average, grade seven girls (499.47, SD = 81.84) scored higher than grade seven boys (472.91, SD = 82.25) in PILNA 2021. This was consistent with the scores for the 2015 and 2018 PILNA cycles, when, on average, grade seven girls scored higher than grade seven boys in reading, Figure CRF7.4.
