A roughly equal number of grade seven girls and boys in Marshall Islands had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 writing assessment: 49% girls and 51% boys.

Figure CWF7.3 shows the average writing performance of grade seven students in Marshall Islands by gender in PILNA 2021. On average, the grade seven girls (517.00, SD = 47.52) scored higher in writing performance than did the grade seven boys (501.03, SD = 49.03). The grade seven girls also scored higher, on average, then the grade seven boys in writing performance in 2015 and 2018, Figure CWF7.4.
