Grade 7 Numeracy performance by school locality
Three quarters of grade seven students are enrolled in schools in urban areas.
Figure CNF7.6 shows the average performance of grade seven students by school locality. Grade seven students in non-urban schools achieved similar results in the overall numeracy domain and across all four strands as those in urban schools. The biggest difference between the two, although small, was observed in the ‘Data & Chance’ strand. The difference in numeracy scores at grade seven by school locality is consistent with the PILNA cycles in 2015 and 2018 as shown in Figure CNF7.6.1.
