More than 8 out of 10 grade seven students are enrolled in government schools in Marshall Islands.

Figure CNF7.5 shows the average performance of grade seven students by school authority.  Students in non-government schools showed higher average performance in the overall numeracy domain and the numeracy strands than those enrolled in government schools. The largest difference in performance was observed in the ‘Operations’ strand, with a 60-point difference on average between grade seven students in non-government schools and those in government schools. The difference in numeracy scores at grade seven is consistent with the PILNA cycles in 2015 and 2018 as shown in Figure CNF7.5.1.
