Grade 7 Writing performance by gender
A roughly equal number of grade seven girls and boys in Federated States of Micronesia had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 writing assessment: 52% grade seven girls and 47% grade seven boys.
Figure CWF7.3 shows the average writing performance of grade seven students in Federated States of Micronesia by gender in PILNA 2021. The grade seven girls scored slightly higher in writing performance (507.27, SD = 65.65) than did the grade seven boys (491.10, SD = 64.23). Grade seven girls also scored higher, on average, than grade seven boys in 2015 and 2018 as shown in Figure CWF7.4.
