Year 6 Writing performance by gender
A slightly unequal number of year six girls and boys in Niue had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 writing assessment: 58% girls and 42% boys.
Figure CWF6.3 shows the average writing performance of year six students in Niue by gender in PILNA 2021. On average, the year six girls (551.84, SD = 32.15) scored higher in writing performance than did the year six boys (527.46, SD = 24.67). Year six girls also scored substantially higher, on average, than year six boys in writing performance in 2015 and 2018 (Figure CWF6.4).
