The average numeracy performance in strands for year four students in Niue is shown in Figure CNF4.3. There was some variation in average scores across the numeracy strands. Performance in the ‘Data’ strand was the highest (581.32) and performance in the ‘Operations’ strand was the lowest (533). Performance in the ‘Number’ strand was 545.96 and in the ‘Measurement & Geometry’ strand was 551.94. This shows that year four students in Niue may need support in the ‘Operations’ strand and that the average overall numeracy performance may be lifted by scores in the ‘Data’ strand.
