The average numeracy performance in strands for year six students in Niue is shown in Figure CNF6.3. There was little variation in the average scores of most numeracy strands, but the average score for the ‘Number’ strand was higher than the others. This means that year six students had consistent performance across most numeracy strands but performed better in the ‘Number’ strand. This also means that the overall numeracy score may be more contributed to by scores in the ‘Number’ strand.
