Year 4 Writing performance by gender
A roughly equal number of year four girls and boys in Cook Islands had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 writing assessment, with the distribution being 46% girls and 54% boys.
Figure CWF4.4 shows the average writing performance of year four students in Cook Islands by gender. On average, year four girls (503.41, SD = 99.70) scored higher than year four boys (482.37, SD = 47.05). Year four girls also scored higher, on average, than year four boys in writing performance in 2015 and 2018.
