More than 7 out of 10 year four students are enrolled in government schools in Cook Islands. Figure CRF4.5 shows the average performance of year four students by school authority. Students in non-government schools scored higher in reading than those in government schools. This is consistent with 2018 but differs from 2015, when year four students from government and non-government schools performed similarly on average as shown in Figure CRF4.6.
