Year 6 Reading performance by gender
A roughly equal number of year six girls and boys in Fiji had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 reading assessment: 53% girls and 47% boys.
Figure CRF6.3 shows the average reading performance of year six students in Fiji by gender. Year six girls (533) scored higher than year six boys (511) in PILNA 2021. This was similar to the performance in the 2018 PILNA cycle, when, on average, year six girls scored higher than year six boys in reading performance (Figure CRF6.4).
