Year 4 Reading performance by gender
An equal number of year four girls and boys in Fiji had their performance analysed in the PILNA 2021 reading assessment: 50% were girls and 50% were boys.
Figure CRF4.3 shows the average reading performance of year four students in Fiji by gender. On average, year four girls scored higher (466.21) than year four boys (441.29) in reading. This is consistent with their performance in the 2018 PILNA cycle, when they also scored higher than year four boys in reading (Figure CRF4.4).
