Figure CWF6.5 shows the performance of year six students by school locality: urban and non-urban. Writing performance in PILNA 2021 was about the same for students in urban schools (515) and non-urban schools (510).

Figure CWF6.6 below shows the writing performance of year six students by school locality over time. A difference is seen in the 2018 PILNA cycle compared to 2021, Figure CW6.6. In 2018, students in urban schools scored higher in writing than did students in non-urban schools.
